Festive Makeup: Winged Eye Day and Night

Hello Everyone!

The festive season is upon us. So what look did I sport today?

Today was about the winged eyeliner. I winged it both during the day and in the evening. So lets see how it worked out for me....

Look 1: Daytime

I kept it light with a regular black eyeliner, gold and bronze eye-shadow pigments, a light mineral blush for a soft glow. I used a brick-red lipstick to tie the look together.

  1. Bodyography Foundation Primer
  2. ColorBar Perfect Match BB Cream in Honey Glaze
  3. Oriflame Studio Artist Concealer in Medium
  4. Maybelline New York Clear Glow All in One Compact Powder in Nude Beige

  12. Elle 18 Colour Pops Lipstick in Red Rouge

Look 2: Evening

For the evening I opted for a pink and purple glowy look. The Winged liner look stayed with a wine-pink eye shadow and a violet liner. This look was tied up with a bright pink lip.

Devjani's Corner: The Many Uses Of Tea Cups

Hello!

The time spent with my dear friend Indu is always enriching.

She has taught me the real meaning of the word gratitude ...a God fearing person, there is always "shukar"(Thank you) on her lips.

Her house is a treat to the eyes and as an artist she manages to change the decor by moving just a few objects....

One of the lessons I have learnt is to always place your things  at different levels... Be it curios, plants in the balcony or even laying out food on the table.

Bored with my flower vases , this week I decided to use tea cups as containers. To give them a height I placed them on ice cream cups... Any other height enhancer will do.

Place the oasis foam in them and arrange the flowers... Don't forget to put in ample of greens.. I used carnations with golden rod.

The compliments just poured in... All I can say is "shukar ".

Devjani is a wife, mother, teacher, social worker, a gardening and cooking enthusiast, a globe trotter, a bundle of boundless energy and an extremely creative person. She loves to share easy recipes, ideas to keep kids creatively occupied, and a host of other tips and tricks around the home and beyond.

In My Envy Box: October 2015 Second Anniversary Edition

Hello All!

Anniversaries seem to abound this time, two months ago it was FabBag celebrating its 3rd Anniversary and this month it is My Envy Box's turn. They are celebrating their second.

My Envy Box had been building a lot of excitement around this month's curation through a number of emails in my inbox (I'm not all that regular on twitter/facebook ;P. So I really was looking forward to the October Edition. I was quite breathless with anticipation....So how do you think I reacted when the box finally came? Read on to find out....

This Month's packaging is an elegant white with pink accented flowers. The lady approves!

This is what came in my box.

L'Occitane En Provence Arlesenne Shower Cream
Product Price: INR 490/- for 70 ml
Sample Size in Box: Full Size

I could smell this product even before opening the box! Its a rich a luxurious fragrance of rose, sweet velvet and saffron. I can't wait for my next shower!

Keratase ELIXIR ULTIME Sublime Cleansing Oil-Enriched Shampoo
Product Price: INR 750/- for 80 ml
Sample Size in Box: Full Size

Keratase is the professional hair care range from the house of L'Oreal, Paris. For the longest time I saw their products in the high end, luxury salons and spas. But in recent times, they have been available in retails shops specializing in luxury beauty products. My hair has been feeling like it could do with some specialization, so we'll see how this works for me.

Keratase ELIXIR ULTIME Hair Masque
Product Price: INR 1350/- for 75 gms
Product Size in Box: Full Size

As I said just a while earlier, my hair in in need of a extra boost, I was thrilled to receive the masque along with the shampoo. These are high end and therefore not always easy to afford, so I'm glad the Envy Box team has sent these two products in a sizable..... size. I'll let you know what my hair tells me about this combo soon!

Za Total Hydration Amino Mineral Refreshing Gel
Product Price: INR 599/- for 50 ml
Sample Size in Box: 5ml

I have heard only good things about Za and I must admit, that I was a tad disappointed to see a tiny 5ml sample. Perhaps a 10 ml product would have made me happier.

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Strawberry
Product Price: INR 750/- for 2.6 gms
Sample Size in Bag: Full Size

To be really honest, I'm not sure I wanted another shimmery lip balm. So this product is going straight to my young college going niece. Don't get me wrong, Burt's Bees is a great brand, but this particular product, I wasn't particularly dying for......

My Envy Box has been quite  generous, of the five products in the Box this month, four are generous/full size.

Total Value: INR 3400/-. A great deal against a cost of INR 850/- for the month's box. However, if you look at the bigger picture, My Envy Box's promotion promised products over INR 4000/-. So 600 bucks short. So do be careful about what you promise..

Overall Verdict: I would give an 4/10 half mark each lost for tiny Za sample and slightly misleading promotion.

My Envy Box is a subscription service which brings you 5 trial sized beauty products (typically 2ml-10ml) from the top international luxury and prestige brands delivered to your door step every month. Priced at INR 850/- for a month, it may be subscribed for 3, 6, or 12 months. You may subscribe to this service HERE

What's in My Fabbag: October 2015 Edition

Hello Everyone!

Last month's Fabbag was quite nice with some lovely samples. Lets see if this month's bag can match up...

Nyassa Tiramisu Body Scrub
Product Price: INR 900/- for 215 gms
Sample Size in Bag: 30 gms

It smells so yummy, that I might have eaten it had I not known it was a scrub. The product has really soft particles and I'm dying to try it out. Watch out for the review.

Spa Ceylon White Jasmine Facial Masque
Product Price: INR 2150/- for 100 gms
Sample Size in Bag: 50 gms

My! The product sounds to luxurious! I haven't yet opened its sealed top (want to finish my
earlier masque, since I'm afraid it may dry up before I've really had the chance to use it properly), but I'm absolutely certain I'm going to love the product!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion
Product Price: INR 425/- for 250 ml
Sample Size in Bag: 50 ml

Known for its rich products mainly catering the dry to very dry skin, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion in the October Bad is a godsend. With temperatures set to dip in the city, the air is much drier and I can feel the pull on my skin after a bath. So This is going to be a really great product to use after a shower, to restore moisture and oils on the skin surface.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Blush Lacquer in Heat
Product Price: INR 750/- for full size
Sample Size in Bag: Full Size

This was the Item of choice that came in my bag. There were lipsticks, eye-shadows and eye-pencils (I think) to chose from and I selected this blush. Its texture is a bit thick and a little goes a long way. Watch out for the review....

Total Value of Bag: INR 2035/- approx. So I'm not complaining!

All in all a bag I Like!

FabBag is a monthly subscription service starting at INR 399/-. Each month's bag contains 3-5 products from national and international brands ranging from drugstore to luxury. Product sizes range from small sample sizes to full size. To join this service click HERE.
