Product Review and NOTD with #Oriflame Pure Color Nail Polish Mini in Burgundy Wine

Hey Everyone!!

I have been a long-time Oriflame user. I have liked most of their products. So I will be reviewing another product from their stables.

In recent months I have been really drawn to simple nail art and have built a decent collection of nail polishes.

Today's NOTD is Burgundy Wine nails with a Gold accent.

So here goes....

Product Claim: Glossy, high-shine nail polish in a wide range of exciting shades. Gorgeous finish, fantastic colours.

Product Price:  INR 129/- for 6ml

My Take on the Product:

I have usually liked using Oriflame products, especially their colour cosmetics. I really liked using the Midnight Blue (check out the review HERE ) from this range of Nail Polishes. However ,I was quite disappointed by their Burgundy Wine variant! he formula is very thin and runny and you need at least 3 coats for a near opaque finish. The colour itself is quite gorgeous with really tiny shimmer particles which gives it a nice glow.

Another problem was that the tips began to wear off within a few hours. By the end of the first day, the polish had begun to chip off. Even after refreshing the polish, it chipped from the tips within  a few hours. However, I did not face this issue with the Midnight Blue variant.

This variant will perform better with a base and a top coat.

Pros:
1. Lovely Shade
2. Tiny shimmer particles make it a nice colour to wear on a regular basis.

Cons:
1. Very runny and thin formula
2. Needs at least 3 coatstolook close to opaque.
3. Tips wear off within a few hours.
4.Chips by the next day of applicaition.

Overall Verdict: 2/5

Random Thoughts Vol.10

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Indian Republic Day Edition of Three Random Thoughts. So here are 3 random thoughts for this week.....

1. What is your earliest Indian Republic Day memory?

Mine is scrambling to collect the lovely glitter paper squares dropped from helicopters as a welcome to the Indian people at Rajpath, New Delhi. We lived very close by and the papers drifted to our colony with the breeze. How my friends and I tried to get more than the rest. Now they don't make any such drops........... security reasons!!

2. Have you watched the Republic Day Parade live, at the venue?

I have been very lucky to have watched the National Parade in Delhi almost every year as I was growing up. Last 10 yrs or so I have not been able to due to excessive security checks. Though I would like my girls to watch them, Im waiting for them to grow up a bit more!

3. What is your republic Day ritual?

Nowadays, I watch the parade with my children on TV. And when its time for the fly past, we rush to the terrace. Our house is in in the flight path and we get to see the aircrafts fly towards Rajpath.

In the evenings we go to Rajpath to see the illumination of India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

I tag you to answer these questions. You don't have to answer them all. Even one or two would do. Hoping to hear from you soon!!

Three Random Thoughts Vol. 9

Hey Everyone!

How is 2015 treating you so far? As for me, its going great so far.

Now for this week's random thoughts....

1. Are you a Mall Rat?

Going to shopping malls is not something I usually do. But when the brands get together and announce 50% discount............... I can loose my mind!

2. What is the place that is right it the top of your travel wishlist within India?

Mine is God's Own Country... Kerala!

3. What's your favourite way to relax after at long and tiring day?

After a crazy day at work, when my kids have driven me up the wall............ and I've finally put them to bed, I love to clean up, slap on some face pack and watch the idiot box....

I tag you to answer these questions. You need not answer all of them, two or even one will do. Share your answers in the comments section below...
