My Envy Box August 2016 Edition

Hi Everyone!

My Envy Box arrived today and because we are in the middle of a 3-day weekend, I decided to give you the round up today itself!

The Box has a monsoon theme with clouds and umbrellas. My daughters are already eyeing the box!

What's Inside this month's box? I got a couple of email teasers saying that its raining full sized products. So when I opened the box, I saw three out of four products are full sized. The fourth is a generous 50 ml sample pack. So let's explore My Envy Box further.

Hedonista Clear Moisturiser

I have really oily skin and this weather make it stickier. So I'm always on the lookout for a light, easily absorbed moisturiser. So I'm really looking forward to testing this product to see how it works on me.

Omorfee Lip Lightening Salve
Product Price: INR 549/- for 10 gems

Lip Balms are in season all the year round. And this product promises to restore natural soft, baby pink lips. Mow my lips aren't too pigmented, but who does;t like soft, pink lips?

O3+ Eye Circle Cream

Not that I have bags or dark circles, but the promise of keeping wrinkles at bay, is definitely attractive!

Stay Quirky Nail Polish in LustyIllustration (877)

Product Price: INR 250/- to 300/- (sic.)

Does a price range indicate different prices for different shades? Will let you know whether I like the nail polish or not, in a bit.

Total Value of this month's Box: INR 1709/- approx. Not bad considering you pay 

Overall Verdict: Three out of four products are full sized, so thats quite nice. However, the nail polish isn't something I'm dying to try out. The other products are well curated, though!

First Impressions: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Hey Everyone!

This is a post of firsts. Its my first 'First Impressions' post, first 'talk-through' video post, first beauty vlog.... etc., etc....

I recently bought the real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge at a really good discount on Amazon. And it just struck me that I could do a First Impression video... So I just got to doing it, and here it is!

I know of course, that it is not a patch on what some vlogger gurus have achieved, but I thought why take myself seriously!

So enjoy the video, critique  it, give me suggestions, but most important smile!

I will be doing a detailed review of this sponge in a bit. I'm not sure I its going to be a video, so lets see what happens!

My Envy Box: November 2015 Edition

Hello All!!

I got the November 2015 Edition of My Envy Box yesterday. To be honest, I was not entirely happy about the curation this month. Read on the know why....

This month's box is a light pista green in colour with a very pretty floral graphic on the lid.

Nimai Handcrafted Bracelet

Honestly, I don't really like jewellery in beauty boxes. They tend to be of pretty poor quality and not really to my taste. So this product did not make me too happy.

Derma Glow Radiance Perfecting Treatment

Product Price: INR 990/- for 10 ml

Sample Size in Box: 10 ml

Curious...... the accompanying card mentions that this is part of the last batch of DermaGlow products coming into India... why last batch? Is the brand winding down? However, initial application seems promising. Let's see how it works out.....

I tried locating the product on the website (myenvybox.com) but it isn't there..

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Product Price: INR 599/- on Amazon.in and Nykaa.com ; INR 550/- on Flipkart.com and 

Sample Size in Bag: 10x3=30ml

Bioderma is a really great brand and I have tried their foaming gel earlier and was saw really positive results. I have tried micellar cleansers by Vichy and Nuxe and I'm sure Bioderma Sensibio H2O will fare well, but I would have really liked a larger sized sample. Again, this product is not available on the website at this time.....

Chloe Eau de Toilette

Product Price: INR 4900/-

Sample Size in Box: 1.2 ml

This is a lovely perfume that smells of roses. I had received this as a sample when I had bought a perfume at an airport duty free counter. I loved it then, and am not complaining about this sample.

Wella SP Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir

Product Price: INR 1,250/- for 30 ml on Amazon.com; INR2099/- on Paytm and INR 1250/- on eBay.in

Sample Size in Box: 2x2=4ml

This product is also currently unavailable on the website.

I'm wondering, most beauty subscriptions offer 10-20% discounts on full size products whose samples they curate in the current month. In this My Envy Box disappoints. The website offers a flat INR 100/- off on purchases. The accompanying card in the Box says a gift pack worth INR 3000/- will be given for a bill if INR 5000/- or above.

Overall Verdict: On the whole disappointing.. both in terms of curation, lack of any full sized product, lack of availability of a number of featured products on own website and lack of product specific discounts. Also the Card does not mention prices of the full sized products. So all in all seems like a very carelessly thrown together box, falling far short of its promise. I saw some other reviews and everyone seems to be feeling quite let down!

I decided on a winged eyeliner since I wear glasses at home. In keeping with the festive spirit,I chose a red lipstick with a yellow undertone.

My Envy Box June 2015 Edition

I had been reading a number of beauty bloggers talking about My Envy Box. So finally, I succumbed to the temptation to subscribe to this beauty box service.

I received my first box yesterday. I couldn't wait to dig in. So what did I get in this box? Keep reading....

The Envy Box itself is quite pretty. It is a rectangular cardboard box with a magnetized flap. It has the brand embossed in gold print on the lid. Its great for storing makeup and accessories. It can even be used as packaging for gifts to your friends!

Wow! So two full sized products! Always a great thing!! I am really excited about all of these products! The Catrice Eye Pencil with its own brush for smudging is a lovely inky, coal blue rather than a garish shade. I'm really looking forward to trying out the Hedonista Face Souffle as well.  We are already familiar with how great Kerastase is as far as hair products are concerned, so the Elixir Ultime Oil is a welcome product in the Box. I had tried out Estee Lauder Pleasures EDP at the Dubai Airport so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the sample in the Box. I love these little vials of perfumes. I keep them handy and spritz on whenever the mood strikes me! I absolutely love hand creams and keep a basket of different hand creams on my night-stand. The Natio Meditate Hand Cream  is a welcome addition to my basket!
