LOTD: Fresh and Glowing Make-Up for a Relaxed Diwali at Home

Hello All!!

Wish you and your loved ones a Very Happy Diwali!

After a hectic round of pre-Diwali parties and a massive cleaning spree at home, I thought to do a very simple glowy look to celebrate Diwali with the family. Since my girls have decided to go cracker free this Diwali, I don't have to compete with any sparklers. Besides we are not expecting too many guests this time round. Hence the effort to keep it basic.

Products used for this Look:

  1. Polaar Icy Magic Instant Skin perfector (as primer)
  2. Olivia Pan stick Foundation in Shade 3
  3. Lollipops Paris Concealer in Shade Biscuit (24)
  4. Maybelline New York Clear Glow All in One Compact Powder in 02 Nude Beige (only to set the concealer)
  5. Deborah Milano 24 Ore Velvet Eye Shadow (for contouring ;D)
  6. City Color Blush in Coral
  7. Revlon Highlighting Palette in 020 Rose Glow
  8. Maybelline New York The Colossal Liner in Black
  9. Himalaya Kajal
  10. Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Brown (to lightly define and fill in my brows)
  11. Maybelline New York Hyper Curl Volum Express Mascara in Black
  12. Laqa & Co. Fat Lip Pencil in Siren Song

I decided on a winged eyeliner since I wear glasses at home. In keeping with the festive spirit,I chose a red lipstick with a yellow undertone.

Hope you liked this look.

Have a great and safe Diwali!

Empties Post: September 2015

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for this delayed post, but too much was going on in my life, ranging from corrections to report cards, from eye treatments to makeup workshops....

So, let me just plough in, straight off the bat!

Here's this month's empties...

Khadi Scrub Lotion Fruit Rub is not really meant for the face since the scrub granules were quite large. Though the particles were rounded, I preferred to use it as a body scrub. Its quite heavy on aloe vera so really boosted moisture in the skin. After using it, the skin felt clean and comfortable. There was actually no need to apply any lotion after this scrub. I liked the rose fragrance of this scrub too. Its definitely worth buying again!

Avon Smile Roll On Anti-Antiperspirant Deodorant: Sadly, Avon Has stopped making this variant of the roll-on deo. I loved its fresh orange-y fragrance. If it was available, I would not use any other roll-on deo!

Somi's Glow Mint Moisturiser: This was quite a good product! With excellent humectant properties, this moisturiser worked very well for my oily skin in the dry summers of Delhi. Though its application made my facial skin sweat, it worked more like a sauna. And its effect was visible to people around me who complimented me on my glowing skin.

Avon Simply Pretty Color Me Pretty Nail Enamel in Cherry Red: A lovely bright red, I hesitated to wear on my finger nails, bit often applied to my toe-nails. Loved how it made my feet look so dressy! I like the fact that its a small bottle of 5 ml only. You can finish the bottle before the product dries out!

Himalaya Kajal (Kohl): Himalaya is a trusted brand in India and I have been using their kajal/kohl for many years. I have lost count of how many of these I have used till the last bit! But of course I have bought another already!

Dresser looking a bit more organised, but there has been an influx of new stuff as well. More about that, later...

LOTD: Monsoon Greens

Hi Everyone!

Its been a while since I did a look. The monsoon rains have turned Delhi a beautiful green. So taking inspiration from this beautiful hue Delhi is sporting, I created this simple look. I wore this look to attend a puja ceremony at  friend's house. I've kept the look as natural and homey as possible since it was a small and intimate gathering. I have used a green, shimmery eye shadow from the Make Up Revolution London eye palette. I have kept the rest of the look neutral with peachy cheeks and nude lips, to draw attention to the eyes, which are the highlight of this look.

Products Used for the Look:
  1. Polaar Icy Magic Instant Skin Perfector
  2. Lakme 9 to 5 Flawless Makeup Foundation in Shell
  3. Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer in (05) Honey
  4. Chambor Silver Shadow Compact (RR5)
  5. Beauty UK Blush in (04) Rustic Peach
  6. Be  Bombshell All in One Stick in Champagne Shimmer
  7. Make Up Revolution London Eye Shadow Palette in Redemption Palette Hot Smoked
  8. Himalaya Kajal
  9. Maybelline New York The Colossal Liner Pen in Black
  10. Lakme Perfect Definition Lip Liner in (01) Irish Coffee
  11. Maybelline New York Lip Polish in Glam 13
I did not use a mascara since it was really humid and as of now I do not own a water proof mascara. Idid not want to chance any mascara meltin down my eyelashes. I do not really like using waterproof mascara because it is difficult to remove and I don't like to scrub too hard around the very delicate eye area.

If you notice, I have not used a primer either. Actually I have been testing out the Polaar Icy Magic Instant Skin Perfector. I wanted to see how it would work without a primer.

What do you think of this look? Let me know in the comments section below!

P.S. Don't mind the hair. I've never been to good with hairdos and the humidity right now has messed it up further :(

EOTD: Brown Smokey Eye with a Neutral Lip

Hey All !!

This post has been sitting in drafts for over a month, time for it to see the light of day!!

I was in the 'smokey eye' phase and decided to try out this look.

This is a very simple look and can be carried quite comfortably during the day, even in the office. I have kept the lip neutral for day wear. But you may go for a deeper colour, if you wish, for a party of evening wear.

Products Used for This Look:

  1. Maybelline New York Dream Matta Mousse in Pure Beige Medium 2
  2. Faces Vanishing act Concealer Stick in Medium (Buy Here)
  3. Maybelline New York Clear Glow All in One Compact Powder
  4. Maybelline New York Dream Touch Blush No.07 (Buy Here)
  5. Beauty UK EyeShadow Pallette No 7 Naked (Buy Here)
  6. Himalaya Herbal Kajal
  7. Maybelline New York Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara
  8. Elle 18 Blackout Eyeliner
  9. Oriflame Very Me Lip Crayon in Coral
  10. Maybelline New York Lip Polish in Glam 14

How I Did my Eye:

  1. With a fluffy eyeshadow brush I covered my entire top eyelid with the shade marked 1.
  2. with an angled eyeshadow brush, I took shade 2 to contour the crease line (the fold between the brow bone and eyelid) and blended out the outer corner of the eye.
  3. I used shade 3 on my brow bone (just under the eyebrow).
  4. Then I dabbed shade 4 and dabbed it in the inner corner of the eye (near the tear duct)
  5. I then lined my lower waterline with the kajal.
  6. I then lined the top lash line with the eyeliner, slightly winging it towards the outer edges.
  7. Application of the mascara completed the eyes.

What do you think of this look? Let me know through your comments

Lots of Love!!
